Comments: Ok last match of the season for both teams and it was a battle. The front 9 was Zak and Tony and Rich and Ed Zak and Tony's match went back and forth with Zak closing it out on 8 and Tony won the press on 9. Zak had his best 9 in a while shotting a 43.; But that's parr for the course as everyone plays better against Rich and Tony. Rich and Ed went back and forth to the point it was even on the 9th tee. Rich won 9 to take 6 points. The back was Ed and Tony and Zak and Rich. Ed was very consistent and Tony shit the bed on a lot of the holes Ed closed Tony out on 16. They halved 17 and Tony won 18 with a parr. Rich and Zak had a great battle to the point where they were even on the 18th tee. Both tee shots were average but somehow Rich bogie 18 for the win. Of course the drinks were the highlight and the boys paid for Tony's drinks because it was his birthday so it turned out to be a Deluxe Day.....See you all Championship Sunday...

Dennis vs Kevin was one on the 9th hole by Den. Ater the turn Mark played Dennis . Mark really put the pedal to the metal and closed Den out on 15 and went on to win the press. Mike closed Kevin out on 16 and went on to win the press. All in all we had a lot of fun with good matches and had a few cocktails and laughs in Peters.

Comments: Quite a match under beautiful conditions. Its a pleasure watch Ed swing but itis fun being on the receiving end of 9 strokes for Joe and 8 strokes for Steve. Joe squeaked by at 8 and lost the press. Steve got by Zac after 8 and won the press. The back was really intense Ed was pulling every shot he knew trying to overcome the strokeage. Steve was up 1 going into 13 and Steve led off with a long drive. Ed looked to draw his ball into the middle but pulled it a bit. Joe (Ball Hawk) found in the rough at the water's edge. Ed figured he punch it out and took one step behind the ball sunk and fell completely in the water. That cooled off te intensity. Steve kept the pressure on ad closed Ed out on 15 and won the press. Joe and Zac played tight with Joe winning on 17 but losing the press. Zac can hit a long ball!!! Great fun and lots of laughs.

Comments: Well, we first had a postponed rain day, which was followed by a 2 hour plus rain delay. we Drank through that to get ready to play soggy golf. There was no roll and sticky greens at Rock Hill in Manorville. Matches were Mano V Mano. Hank and Mark faced each other on the front nine. Mark took the first hole and spent the rest fighting to keep the lead as Hank challenged on every hole, Mark won the match and press on the last hole. Steve Cotrone faced Kevin Oak (the New Guy) Steve had the lead most of the way, Kevin caught up and halved the match. The Back nine Hank woke up and played Kevin and took the match in 6 holes but lost the press. Mark and Steve battled it out on the back, it was a tough match very close, but Mark came out on top. Great fun was had with a little liquid sunshine (rain). we licked our wounds and had refreshments at Pine Hills. A great Day on the course with great competitors.

Brian was down 4 with 5 holes to play. Zach struggled with John and was down 3 after 5 holes. He battled back and was down 1 at the 9th hole . They halved the hole and John won. Brian lost his match. It was reversed on the back nine With Brian winning his match against Zach and Ed winning his match. We all looked forward to an adult beverage or three and had a great time.

Comments: It was a warm sultry afternoon with a stiff wind that carried a faint aroma of burning wood wafting down from the Great White Way on the teeing grounds of Indian Island GC. The contest was played under the Commish rules of best ball round robin. The match started on a dubious note as all four tee shots found the rough. Brought back memories of Bethpage Black...before the makeover. I'm sure we all remember the overgrown rough there from yesteryear! After the first three holes Billy and Mike got into a bit of a rhythm that although close at times Sir Tom and Budwieser Bill could not surmount a charge to repel the ensuing onslaught. On the backside Billy E's putter came alive. It was not enough. Mike went on a nice roll of pars to overcome the strokes given to take all the points while Billy had a nice backside to hold Sir Tom off and collect six. After the match we adjourned to the famous (infamous) Triangle Pub in Eastport for some snacks and well deserved adult beverages. An A-day indeed.

Comments: It was breezy and balmy on the war grounds of Bellport CC on the 30th of June. We played a match format that I like to refer to as the Commish, aka Mano a Mano with alternating combatants front and back. On the front side Billy faced off against Kevin and Mike took on Mark. It was back and forth for the first couple of holes as both sides were feeling the pressure of links combat but the match started to develop into a scenario that would manifest itself to its conclusion. Billy closed Kevin out 3 & 2 then took the press 2 up. Mike and Mark both could not get any traction under their wheels and closed the front side even with Mark taking the press with a great 9th hole! Mark was in a groove the rest of the way and went up 2 holes on Billy. Billy got within 1 but couldn't cool Mark's hot hand, giving Mark a 6pt win. Mike found his way on the back side overcoming the strokes he had to give and handily defeated Kevin for 6pts. Great day with much camaraderie!

Comments: We had a late afternoon tee time at Middle Island with perfect weather conditions for the match. Steve played Ed on Spruce getting seven strokes. Steve had a strong start, making four consecutive pars including an amazing chip in from off the green on 5 for par. Hank and Zak had a good match, staying within two of each other and of course the win being decided on the ninth. Hank and Steve won their matches and was really looking forward to doing the same on Dogwood, when the wheels came off. Eddie proceeded to give Hank a lesson in humility for the entire match. I have to say it's almost fun watching the game played at that level even when you're getting your ass kicked. Steve and Zak's match was similar and the outcome the same. Zak played very well and made a few pars along the way while Steve was trying to win the triple crown. As always, it was great fun playing with these guys.

Comments:It was a sunny hot day at Bellport yesterday. Team Tom and Billy vs Team Dennis and Mike .

The first Match was Dennis vs Billy. Den was +3 by the third hole and closed Billy out by the 7th Hole . Dennis also won the press. Tom was stroking on 1 and his 5 for 4 put him up by 1. Mike evened it up on 3 and it stayed that way until 6 when Mike went 1up. Mike was up 2 on 8 and closed out the match and then won the press. The back nine went as follows; Mike played Billy who was having a rough day as we all have from time to time. Mike closed Billy out on 14. The press was closer but Mike won it on 18. The Dennis Tom machine was a bit of a nail biter. They were back and forth thru 16 , Dennis went up by one on 17 and closed out Tom on 18. All in all that’s golf but but we did manage to have a fun filled friendship day telling stories and having a few cocktails afterward.

The second half matches were both nail biters. Rich got 3 strokes form Brian and was down 2 after 3 holes. Rich's stroke on #12 meant nothing when Brian stuck the pin and birdied the hole. Rich slowly chipped away parring 16 and 17 to get all even going to 18. Both R and B shit the bed on 18 with 7's and the match was halved. T&J went back and forth the entire match and were all even going to 18. Tony's 6 beat John's 7 to win the match. Two dogfights!!

Comments: Perfect day for golf at Bellport. We played blue/white tees. The front nine Chris played like a tour pro and destroyed Hank, although Hank was somehow able to win the three hole press. Mike was getting strokes on 1 & 8 but it wasn't enough against Steves length and solid play. Steve played well against Chris and the match came down to Steve having to win 17 for a half ... that didn't happen, the press was halved. Hank was able to win a tight match against Mike on the back.

Comments: Beautiful day at Belport!!! Joe & Steve Played Ironman Mike Foley and Billie Fehr. Mike decided he needed a tuneup prior to our match so he played in Men's Day, so when Joe took on Mike at the first hole, mike was on hole number 19. Steve promptly told me to wear him down. To add insult to injury Mike had to give both Joe and Steve 4 strokes a side (We played Middle Tees). Joe was up 3 with 3 to go and Mike woke up to win the next 3 even with my strokes for a halve. Billie played tough but lost the front on 7 but took the press. Then Steve played Mike and he got a second wind and played Steve even through 14. Then Mike hit the wall Steve won the next 3 (2 stroke holes) and won the match; but Mike won the press. Billie played well but lost on 17 and we halved the press. Got give Mike a lot of credit none of us would have finished last 18 holes upright. Great day and the beers went down nice.

Comments: What a beautiful day for a golf match between Chris & Mike and Rich & Tony.

The front 9 matches were between R&M and T&C. Mike started hot winning the first two holes then Rich won the next 3 to go 1 up. The next 2 holes were halved. Mike won 8&9 to close out the match. Rich won the press. The other match was back and forth just like the other match. Tony won 1&4 to go 2up but Chris started to play his best golf by winning the next 5 holes to win the match.

On the back 9, Chris continued his good play and on 14 he wasup +3. Richie tried to come back but could not catch up and was closed out 2 up.

The last match, it seemed like the match was going to be back and forth like the other matches but that turned out not to be true. It was back and forth but then Tony went on a run and went 3 up on 16, Mike won 17 but Tony won the final hole to win the match.

We managed to make it to Pete’s for one cold one and the normal chit chat. All the matches were great and fun was had by all.

Steve and Dennis both played well but by hole eight Steve was up by two and the match was over. Dennis won the ninth and the press. Hank and Dennis had a fairly close match on the back until Hank won 16 & 17 to go up two with one to play. Press on the last hole was won by Hank. Steve & Mike's Match on the back nine was full of drama. Mike was up two with two to play and was not looking good for Steve until he stepped up and won 17 & then " birdied " 18 and halved the match. Great day, Great friends, Great format.
